Electric Paint
July 20, 2013
At D.J.’s Painting, we have an interest in all things “paint”, regardless whether we incorporate such products into our business practice. We would like to pass along a new, cutting edge paint technology, called “electric paint”, and it’s something that might enhance your home or office experience dramatically.
Electric paint isn’t some sort of bright neon, gimmicky application to catch one’s eye. Rather, it’s a paint that is electrically conducive, meaning it can complete electrical circuits and actually be used to power lights and run electrical products. Electric paint was developed by a group of students at the Royal College of Art in London, and was originally designed for use on the human body, as a means of applying electronics to the skin. As is so often the case in research and development, the finished product is vastly different from the original idea. Instead of being an “on body” application, electric paint is much better suited to various surfaces such as walls, billboards, and even paper. It will allow you to install a light in a room without a socket and running wires. You could use an electric paint pen to run Christmas lights around your home without any actual wires, just the paint and individual lights as you wish. The ways in which electric paint can be used are endless, as the product is in its infancy and new uses will continue to emerge.
As of the moment, D.J.’s Painting does not carry electric paint or offer any services with it, but that might change if the product proves to be a hit and potential customers clamor for its commercial use. Please see the link below for more information and again, forward any comments or questions about any of your painting needs/ideas to [email protected].
